New Direction

Today I discussed with a friend, what next.

My little boy starts prep next January, we aren't having any more children. And after doing some recent research into a franchise, we aren't moving forward with our own business for some time yet.

So, what next, was the question I put to my "bestie"

She says

"Have you thought about writing a book?"

I nearly spat my coffee on her, laughing I asked, "About What?!"

The serious look she gave me made me realise it wasn't a joke.

A book is far from my reach, and commitment level I'm sure.

I reminded her I do blog, or more to the point, I HAVE blogs, that I don't write in.

But that I did have some ideas about what those said blogs could contain.

Tonight, I decided to test myself. Can I write, in a blog I already have, rather than open another blank page and start again.

I'm here. I did it. One step closer to the book my best friend would clearly love to read.... (shame about everyone else!)

Moving Up in the Tech World...& Sewing...

Yesterday I became the new, and admittedly pretty proud, owner of a brand new Ultrabook. In my eyes, the Microsoft equivalent to a MacBook. But that's to a layman like me. In reality I'm sure I am way off.

I have an iPad and I love it, but for what I wanted the MacBook's were just too much of a financial investment. So I went on the hunt for something speedy (to handle my photos), something light (to carry around the house) and something smallish (to sit on my lap). AND it had to be within budget, and look okay too.

Two visits to Harvey Norman later - we have changed our HN of choice for purchases after receiving lackluster service at our original preferred store. And I walked out happy as a pig in the proverbial with a Toshiba Ultrabook - 4gb ram, 32mb SSD, 13.3 inch screen, and Windows 8! (But no touch screen)

Windows 8 is a trip. Everything has an app, so it's like your ipad, on a computer. But the standard desktop and Windows set up is running in the background - acc…

Be Yourself.

Heard this for the first time yesterday... it made me smile. Be yourself.

Taco Tuesday, Bunday Monday, Sunday Roast.

And so the list goes!
Many would be familiar with Taco Tuesday, and a definitive Aussie culture is the Sunday Roast.
My 6 year old last week coined Bunday Monday! This means on Mondays we eat buns with various fillings.
Week 1 was YIAH slow cooked pulled pork with homemade coleslaw, on brioche.
Week 2 was YIAH La Parissiene meat patties with salad - essentially a hamburger - on tiger buns.
It's not fancy, it only classifies as healthy because it's homemade and comes with salad but the most important thing about all of it is my 6 year old son is involved in the process.
He named the funny meal day after working to find a word that rhymes with Monday, he has chosen the bread rolls each week and as a result is keen to eat what's in them.
Anyone with a six year old will understand the magnitude of a new food item being added to the revolving repertoire at this age.
So If Bunday Monday means cucumber and lettuce being eaten, roll on next Monday!
